Credit for Prior Experience Credit

 

 

Do you feel you already possess the knowledge necessary to pass the Certified Medical Billing Specialist Exam?  

You can sit for our CMBS exam on Sunday at 3:00 following any PowerWeekend, or take the exam in our office in Las Vegas.  Or you can call our office to set up a proctor site.  A proctor site may include a non-profit organization, such as a library, who is willing to monitor your examination.

The test consists of 100 questions.  Exams are open ICD CPT Coding book.  To pass you must obtain a 75%.  Tests will be evaluated in each of the 6 categories.  

  1. Introduction to Medical Office Insurance

  2. Introduction to ICD coding

  3. Introduction to CPT coding

  4. Proper Coding of Medicare Claims

  5. Proper use of Modifiers

  6. Medical Terminology

The fee for the comprehensive CMBS Exam only is $179 for Medical Association of Billers Members and $199 for non members.

If you do not pass the CMBS Exam, you can take it again within 30 days at no additional charge.

Prior to taking the CMBS Final Exam you must provide us with a recommendation from your supervisor, instructor or physician client stating your competency in Medical Billing.
