Compliance Plan Generation - Tina Landskroener, CMBSI, CCS-P, CPC

Tina Landskroener, CMBS-I, CCS-P, CPC is a MAB on-line instructor for Intermediate CPT, Intermediate ICD-9, Chiropractic Coding and Billing, and Certification Review Courses.  She has over twenty years experience in the medical field with a multi-specialty background that includes Cardiovascular, Obstetrics, Physical Medicine, Pain Management, Chiropractic and Anesthesia.  She has been teaching coding and billing courses for over 12 years, and is past Advisory Board Member of AAPC and taught their PMCC curriculum.  She is currently the Senior Director of Compliance and HIPAA Privacy Officer for Quincy Medical Group in Quincy, IL.

Audits and Investigations - Chris Christensen, CMBSI, RMC

Mrs. Christensen, a CMBSI, Registered Medical Coder, and retired R.N., has over 25 years experience in medical billing, collections, medical insurance/claims processing, office management, personnel training and supervision as well as patient care.  She has been in the position of introducing and implementing innovative ideas, concepts and procedures regarding all facets of office operations, cost control, collection procedures, management techniques, accounting/billing systems and customer service.  Mrs. Christensen is currently the lead coder for the Medical Association of Billers.

Compliance Violations and Penalties - Robert Liles, ESQ.

Robert Liles, ESQ. is a health care fraud defense attorney based in Washington, DC.  His firm, Liles Parker, represents health care providers in both civil and criminal proceedings around the country.  Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Liles served as the first National Health Care Fraud Coordinator, responsible for coordinating the health care fraud enforcement efforts for all 94 US Attorney's Offices.  He was subsequently appointed to the position of Deputy Director for Legal Programs at the Department of Justice, Executive Office for United States Attorneys.  He also worked as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of Texas, Houston office, where he primarily handled False Claims Act cases.  He currently serves on the faculty for the Georgetown University / National Institute of Trial Advocacy.  

 

Compliance Updates, Lee Stickney

Lee Stickney, CDP is the President and CEO of the Health Care Resources Network (HCRnet, Inc.) and has more than 35 years experience in healthcare information technology.  Lee was the Director of Information Systems for West Coast Employee Benefits Services (Culinary) and the Chief Information Officer for Teachers' Health Trust.  Lee served on several Workgroups for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) committees during the formulation of the Kennedy-Kasselbaum Act (HIPAA) and now uses this knowledge to help providers maintain HIPAA compliance.  Lee serves as the Privacy Officer for several large practices in Las Vegas.  HCRnet is the only electronic claims clearinghouse in Nevada, and has led the way in establishing a HIPAA compliant claims environment.
